The M word…

To a woman the M word and the F word are one in the same.  I have yet to meet someone who told me menopause was something other than a big old bitch, and I’ll admit it… I’m scared! says symptoms will start for most women between the ages of 40 to 51.  Oh and by the way the site has this picture on the home page of the website.  All I can think of is why does it show these poor women hanging onto each other? And, do I need to gather up my friends to hold on to me?  The poor woman in the orange shirt looks like she is in pain and scared to death!

They should really re-think this one.

According to the site, the most common symptoms to look for are:

  • Mood Changes …check
  • Irregular Periods…check
  • Urinary Incontinence…(when I run)…check
  • Night Sweats…check
  • Trouble sleeping…check
  • Sexual Discomfort…THANK GOD…NOT YET!!!

Having 5 out of the 6 most common symptoms I have to think it’s starting for me. By far though the worst symptom is the night sweats.  I literally need to sleep in next to nothing and have the ceiling fan on full blast or I will wake up drenched in sweat.  No wonder Coxy insists on two down comforters on the bed, poor guy must be freezing!

In all seriousness, there are some great websites out there that have info on ways to combat the symptoms of menopause, for me was the best.  The site goes into detail on each symptom, why it happens and how you can help combat it.  They also touch upon vitamins, natural and herbal remedies, which I love!

Ladies, unfortunately whether we like it or not, that “big B” menopause is coming for us. I only hope the info here can help in some way to alleviate her grip on your body.
